About the Application
It is soluble in most organic solvents and hydrocarbons such as nitrocellulose and polystyrene, and it is the main plasticizer of cellulose resin and polyvinyl chloride.
Dibutyl phthalate has excellent solubility, dispersion and adhesion, especially suitable for nitrocellulose coatings and the softness and stability of the film is good, too. It not only has good compatibility with pigments, but also can be used as plasticizer or softener of PVC, alkyd resin, ethyl cellulose and neoprene to improve the resilience of products.
