This product is a colorless transparent oily liquid. Its molecular formula is C8H16O2, molecular weight is 144.21, relative density (d254) is 0.9031, boiling point is 228 ℃, crystallization point is - 83 ℃, refractive index is 1.425 (n20D), and it is soluble in ether and slightly soluble in ethanol. The product is characterized by high purity and light color.

2-Ethylhexanoic acid can be used to produce salt and esters products. For the salt products, it can be used as terebine, promoters and catalyst for unsaturated polyester resin, stabilizers and additives for PVC plastics; For the esters products, it can be used to make chemical additives such as fungicides, preservatives, metal lubricants, gasoline additives, biological promoters, etc; And it can also be used as the high-quality material for making high-grade resin.
