Dioctyl terephthalate is a transparent oily liquid, with the molecular formula of C24H38O4, molecular weight of 390.55, relative density (20/20 ℃) of 0.98, freezing point of - 48 ℃, boiling point (0.8kPa) of 370 ℃, and density (solid) of 1.527g/cm3. It is insoluble in water and soluble in general organic solvents.

It has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, volatility resistance, extraction resistance, flexibility and good electrical insulation.
