Dioctyl terephthalate is a transparent oily liquid, with the molecular formula of C24H38O4, molecular weight of 390.55, relative density (20/20 ℃) of 0.98, freezing point of - 48 ℃, boiling point (0.8kPa) of 370 ℃, and density (solid) of 1.527g/cm3. It is insoluble in water and soluble in general organic solvents.

Dioctyl terephthalate is mainly used to soften PVC products. It has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, volatility resistance, extraction resistance, flexibility and good electrical insulation. It is widely used in medical gloves, protection suit, medical equipment, food packaging, cable outer protective cover, children's toys, automotive interior products, paint, paint, footwear and other industries.
