Dibutyl phthalate, referred to as DBP, chemical formula C16H2204, molecular weight 278.34, colorless transparent oil liquid, slightly aromatic insoluble in water, easily soluble in most organic solvents.
This product is mainly used as the main plasticizer of cellulose resin and polyvinyl chloride, especially suitable for cellulose nitrate coatings, with excellent solubility, dispersion and adhesion. The softness and stability of the film are also good, but the flame retardancy and durability are poor, and the general amount of paint is 10% to 60%. This product has good compatibility with pigments, and can be used for coloring film, artificial leather and plastic products. Used as a plasticizer and softener for natural rubber and synthetic rubber, it can improve the resilience of products.
